This glorious site nestles at the foot of the South Downs near Devil’s Dyke, within a smoke signal of the vibrant seaside city of Brighton.
Within 23 acres of ancient woodland there are secluded camping areas plus indoor facilities and a good mix of great things to do both on-site or nearby.
Brighton Parkwood Campsite is the official campsite for Brighton & Hove District Scouts. The site is superbly situated within easy reach of all routes into Brighton. The main A23 London to Brighton road is a 2 minute detour from the site which can be just as easily reached from via the A/M27 from the west and the M20 in the east. For the information of our International colleagues it is only 20 minutes drive from Gatwick International Airport and half an hours drive from the Newhaven Dieppe ferry link.
The site is therefore ideal as base for exploring the South East of England with the city of Brighton only twenty minutes away and also easy access to London.
The site is totally self contained and nestles at the foot of the South Downs. It is a self-contained site comprising of 23 acres of well-maintained woodland. There are two main open areas which are reserved for training and games, but these may also be available for camping dependant of the circumstances Individual and small group camping areas are spread throughout the site. Water for the individual sites is provided by a stand pipe. During the winter month's water is only available from the kitchen block
The site also has sleeping facilities for 36 persons and caters for mixed groups. There are also a further 4 berths located in the wardens block adjacent to the main building. This main building also comprises of classrooms, fully fitted kitchen, and dining facilities. There are also full toilet and shower facilities with both hot and cold running water. This self contained unit also has a small "tuck" shop.
