External Electric Power Supply; Camper’s Fridge; Mobile Phone Charging Station

Campers’ Fridges and Freezers

In the utility room at the rear of the buildings there is one large fridge and a large Freezer (side by side) and under the counter a smaller Fridge and a smaller Freezer.  These are available for use by Campers.

Please note that the Fridge is not lockable; it is recommended that you mark your group’s name on a magnetic label on the fridge / freezer.

External Electrical Supply

There are two electricity supply outlets specifically for use (only) on the Main Field:

A 32A 3 pin socket on the Eastern Wall bunkhouse (close to the Female Camper’s Toilets), and

A 16A 3 pin socket in the lean too behind the Tidy Cabin.

Users must notify the Parkwood Service Crew (parkwoodserviceteam@gmail.com ) if they plan to use these outlets (e.g. to power a Bouncy Castle) giving at least two weeks notice.

Users MUST ensure that they, or their equipment provider) have suitable cables to connect to these and to reach the equipment.   These cable runs MUST be marked and protected across the grass.

Any equipment / activity must be sited at least 4 metres away from the buildings and the wall edge behind the Tidy Cabin so that any securing pins are well clear of the pipes and drains in this area.    If in doubt, a member of the Parkwood Service Crew can provide advice and guidance (parkwoodserviceteam@gmail.com).

Mobile Phone Charging Station

There is a Mobile Phone Charging Station located in the Utility Room at the rear of the Tidy Cabin (door is under the Lean-to).

Groups visiting Parkwood are welcome to use this ‘charging station; there is no additional charge (no pun intended) for this.

Each compartment can accommodate either a Tablet or up to three mobile phones.

Before you start you will need a 25mm padlock (or similar) and your USB Charging Lead.

Instructions:

  • Pass the USB connection through the grill at the rear and plug into a charging socket.
  • Plug the other end into your mobile device
  • Place your device(s) in the compartment
  • Close and Padlock the door

Electronic devices often become hot when charging so although the compartment is well ventilated, if charging more than one device in the same compartment we recommend spacing them well apart.

If the padlock key is lost, or the padlock combination will not work, please do not try and force entry.  Contact a member of the Parkwood Service Team who will be able to remove your padlock without causing any damage to the cabinet.

Although this cabinet is robust and designed to withstand attempts at forcible entry, use is at the owners own risk.   Neither the Parkwood Management Committee nor Brighton & Hove District Scout Council can accept responsibility or liability for loss or damage.
